About Me

Learning about Recycling

Hello, I am Evan Nadal. When I first started recycling, we placed each of the materials in separate bins. Sometimes, separate trucks would come pick up the cardboard, glass and plastic materials. Today, we can simply place all of the items in a single bin for the truck to pick up each week. The materials are automatically sorted at the facility. After the preparation and processing procedure, the new materials are shipped out to manufacturers that create new packaging and products from those supplies. I want to explore the recycling process from beginning to end on this site. I will talk about manufacturing with recycled materials as well. Please visit my site daily to learn more.

Prepping For A Move? Dump, Recycle, And Scrap What You Can

by Eleanor Holland

Taking the time to de-clutter and remove junk and unused items before listing a home and moving can make the selling and moving process a lot easier. You don't have to worry about hiding items or trying to remove items from the property to create more space.

If you know you are going to list your home and move soon, get a dumpster, and find out what you can take to the recycling bin. This is one of the most affordable ways to lighten your moving load and help your house look more spacious. Schedule the following.

Drop Off Roll Off Dumpster

Have a dumpster dropped off in the driveway or yard of your property. This will be one of the fastest and easiest ways to get rid of debris and junk or trash that doesn't need to make the move. When choosing the size, talk with the dumpster company about the following:

  • Rooms in the house being cleaned
  • Large items
  • Recommended sizes for different projects
  • Times you can have the dumpster emptied

The company can come and empty the dumpster if you realize you filled it too quickly. Ask what this cost will be, and how many times you can have this done while you have the unit at your home.

Pay attention to the list of items that can't be dumped. You don't want to have to empty out the dumpster or have them add additional costs and fees because you tossed items that aren't allowed.

Scrap for Cash

Large items of scrap metal that can be taken for fast cash are easy to get rid of. Items that you may have that you want to scrap include:

  • Old lawn equipment
  • Metal appliances
  • Aluminum shed
  • Old aluminum window frames or siding

If you have anything that you know could be scrapped, from copper plumbing to old metal items, have them picked up or drop them off to get money to use towards the move.

Recycling Pickup

To save on the amount of debris that lands in the dumpster, and potentially to save money on the cost of the dumpster, have the recycling all picked up if possible. There are many recycling services that will pick up large loads. Call the local recycling agency to find out what items you can recycle, such as:

  • Different types of metals
  • Glass
  • Cardboard and paper
  • Electronics
  • Plastic

You may find that a lot of old toys or household items can be recycled properly instead of ending up in a landfill.

You want to have a clean and open house if you are listing your property. Declutter so the house looks spacious and clean, and get rid of the items you no longer need to ensure you don't pack the items up and transport them to sit unused at another location. Doing this will help jump-start the cleaning and staging for the sale.
